One of the biggest struggles course creators have is selling their course, and the reason why is because they’re not creating the right course for their stage of business.
Let’s talk about the 3 Stages of a Course Creation Business
The 3 stages of a course creation business are:
- Beginning Stage
- Building Stage
- Scaling Stage
Each stage has milestones to hit and different offers that will fit your stage of business.
Stage 1: The Beginning Stage
The beginning stage is exactly what it sounds like, the beginning. The main goal of this stage is to build your audience and authority!
Growth Stage: 1
Focus:
- Creating consistent evergreen content
- Building your lead funnel
- Consistently emailing your list
- Pick 1 primary source of traffic that will build your email list
Build:
- Introductory Offer
Goal:
- Grow your email list to 200 subscribers*
- *In the podcast episode, I say 500. 200 is a great first goal!
Growth Stage: 2
Focus:
- Creating consistent evergreen content
- Consistently emailing your list
- Pick a secondary source of traffic that will build your email list
- Launch your 101 Course with a Learning Launch
Build:
- 101 Course
Goal:
- Grow your email list to 500 subscribers
- Hit your launch numbers
Stage 2: The Building Stage
Now you’ve got some traction! You’ve got an email list, you’ve sold your first offer, and you’re on your way! During the Building Stage, your goal is to create consistent income!
Growth Stage: 1
Focus:
- Continue building your list…always!
- Refine your marketing for your next launch
- Relaunch your 101 Course with a Build-Up Launch
Build:
- You’re not building anything at this stage, you’re refining your marketing and relaunching your 101 course.
Goal:
- Hit $1000 in sales consistently
Growth Stage: 2
Focus:
- Creating consistent evergreen content
- Consistently emailing your list
- Pick a secondary source of traffic that will build your email list
- Launch your 101 Course with a Learning Launch
Build:
- Premium Course
Goal:
- Earn a full-time income ($3k-$5/month)
Stage 3: Scaling Stage
In the scaling stage, you’re going to scale your offers that are working and start working with affiliates and create JV partnerships to help grow and scale your offers!
Focus:
- Outsource work you don’t enjoy!
- Refine your marketing
- Relaunch your Premium Course with a Build-Up Launch
Build:
- Affiliate marketing relationships
Goal:
- Scale offers that are working!
